Durlum open cell grid ceilings create a visually monolithic ceiling grid that is fully accessible and acoustically transparent. Cells are manufactured from pre-coated aluminum blades pressed together. The panels, typically 24”x48”, are non-combustible, and light in weight. The cell size, height, spacing, and thickness can be varied to suit the design intent. Standard colors include white, black, grey, and clear anodized, with custom colors and finishes also available.
Quadra: A solid single-blade cell structure
Etincell: A perforated single-blade cell structure
Geo: A solid dual-blade cell structure.
Getincell: A perforated dual-blade cell structure.
Quadra Décor: A variation of Quadra featuring wave-shaped elements in an offset pattern, creating a striking visual impact. A varied perforation pattern on the face of the cell structure diffuses lighting above the ceiling plane.
Durlum open cell grid ceilings create a visually monolithic ceiling grid that is fully accessible and acoustically transparent. Depending on the design, panels are made from powder-coated steel or coated or anodized aluminum, which create a lightweight, non-combustible structure.
Single-blade structures (Quadra and Etincell) offer a lighter, more open appearance, while dual-blade structures (Geo and Getincell) allow for a more broadly expressed grid pattern with greater depth. Blade dimensions are fully customizable to the vision of the designer.
Quadra Décor features a wave-shaped pattern that adds a dynamic, three-dimensional effect. It also includes varied perforations on the face of the cell structure, which helps diffuse lighting from above.
The standard panel size is 24” × 48”. These products have a monolithic look, making the panel size less relevant.
Panels attach to a grid using torsions springs. Panels are designed for easy installation and removal, allowing full accessibility to the ceiling plenum for maintenance. Durlum’s grid structure uses notches in the grid and panels to ensure every panel locks in place and aligns perfectly with the neighboring panels. This grid design ensures a monolithic appearance with no deviation from panel to panel.
Metal ceiling panels require minimal maintenance. Regular dusting and occasional cleaning with a mild detergent or microfiber cloth are sufficient to keep them in optimal condition.
